The Braukunsthaus Zillertal and its multimedia exhibition gives visitors a fascinating insight into how brewing has changed and developed at the Zillertal-Bier brewery over the course of 16 generations.
The Braukunsthaus Zillertal in Zell am Ziller introduces visitors to the world of brewing. It all begins with the locally sourced ingredients, including various types of grain native to the region as well as plenty of fresh spring water. The exhibition also explores the history of this brewery, which is today run by the 16th generation of the same family. As visitors will discover, old tools have today been replaced by state-of-the-art technology such as the machines used to fill each bottle to perfection. A large section of the exhibition is also dedicated to the region and its people, from the landscape and traditions to the annual Gauder-Fest celebration which draws 30,000 people to Zell am Ziller each spring. The tour concludes with a chance to sample some of the beers on offer. There is also a brewery shop on site.
