Housed in the venerable, 14th century rooms of the former Augustine Monastery, the noteworthy Augustine Museum at Rattenberg has collected and preserved Tirol’s significant sacred artefacts for future generations. The museum brings together the rich heritage with rediscovered and restored artworks and treasures that have been stored on church attics for years. The museum houses a vast collection of Gothic sculptures, goldsmith's and silversmith's works, Baroque art and sacred folk art from nine centuries to tell the story of Tirol's historical and cultural development. The Augustine Monastery Church is a popular tourist attraction for you can climb up to the top of the church tower for some excellent views across the lovely historic town of Rattenberg.
