Wichtel Park

For pure romance and scenic beauty, Wichtel Park (literally ‘Gnome Park’) in Sillian, East Tirol is hard to beat. The forest park offers a natural playground for family adventure. For the more active kids there are bumper cars and a great adventure playground. With a spectacular tunnel slide, swings and climbing wall, kids can climb, swoop, and fly to their heart’s content. The playground also has water play facilities and a miniature golf course—it’ll be hard to prise any child out of this playscape. Take your adventure to new heights at the aerial forest ropes course, with five trails in various difficulty levels high up in the trees. Wichtel Park is located on wonderful Drau Cycle Path that follows the Drau River from Italy through Austria’s East Tirol and Carinthia to Slovenia. The section between Sillian and Lienz is easy and winds through sceneries of awesome natural beauty.
