Talkessel-Runde - Tramser Weiher
****
A leisurely round from the parish church of Landeck via the trams to Zams and the Sonnenweg around the valley basin with wonderful impressions and views.
From the parish church (817 m) follow the signs to the left in the direction of "Trams, Krahberg, Venet" or "Evangelical Church". You walk briefly through the settlement north-east of the parish church and are well signposted onto a beautiful trail that you hike up to the Tramser Weiher (950 m). The fish are frolicking in the pond and this is reflected in the snow-covered peaks of the Thial and Gatschkopf. From the Tramser Weiher, which is a popular place for relaxation and energy for the residents of Landeck and Zams, the path continues in the direction of Zams.
Deep view of Zams with the luminous avenue
Shortly after the Tramser Weiher, a wonderful view of Zams opens up. Usually around Easter time you can see the pink ribbon of the blossoming avenue trees particularly well from here. You descend to Zams - the trail through the cuckoo forest (signposted like this) is particularly recommended. Soon the small practice lift in the Zammer Riefe is reached via meadows, where the west portal of the Zammer railway tunnel is and where the avenue begins. From around the end of April to around mid-April (depending on the weather), the 130 pink blood plums enchant the avenue into a fairytale landscape. Strolling along the old railway line through Zams is like walking under a pink canopy of flowers.
Beyond Inn to Perjen
From the avenue, walk straight ahead to the Zams hospital and then keep left to finally cross the Inn on the pedestrian and cyclist bridge. Follow the Via Claudia Augusta upstream along the Inn, or the locals call this section the “Lötzweg”. You reach the Landeck district of Perjen, where you first hike on the public road. At a wayside cross at a fork in the path, a Way of St. James signpost and other signs point right uphill to the Sun Trail.
On the sun path to Landeck
The hiking trail leads uphill briefly and then at a constant altitude on the south side (hence Sonnenweg) of the valley basin in the forest in the direction of Landeck. There are always beautiful views of Landeck and the Krahberg, Zammer's local mountain. At the so-called Nisslpark, a playground above the Sanna, follow the path down to the bridge over the Sanna, which, coming from the Stanzertal, soon joins the Inn. Shortly along the Inn, you go under the new railway bridge and then over to the city center of Landeck, where shortly afterwards the beautiful valley basin tour closes.
