The mountains around the Wipptal Valley are home to plenty of riding for both novice and experienced mountain bikers. Quiet side valleys branching off into the Tux Alps and the Stubai Alps also contain a number of challenging downhill trails.
Connecting Innsbruck with the Brenner Pass, the Wipptal Valley is a haven for mountain bikers. Experinced riders can take on stages of the Bike Trail Tirol and the Bike Safari Tirol. There is also excellent riding in the quiet side valleys branching off north and south, for example the idyllic Navistal Valley. We recommend the ride up to the Naviser Hütte, the Stöcklalm and the Peeralm, three pretty huts at the end of the valley. Fine views await at the Padasterjochhaus above Trins in the Gschnitztal Valley, taking in the 3,277-metre-high Habicht and the iconic summit of the Serles. There is a cable car in Steinach am Brenner whisking riders and their bikes up to 1,585 metres above sea level. Up at the top, at the Bergeralm, there are a number of downhill trails in the Bikepark Tirol winding their way into the valley.
