Lots to discover, lots to explore, lots to enjoy! A holiday in the Tirol Zugspitz Arena region offers many highlights, not least a ride up to the top of Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze.
The views from the top of the Zugspitze (2,962 metres), Germany's highest mountain, are truly breathtaking. On a clear day visitors can see as far as Munich to the north and some of the most spectacular peaks in the Alps to the south. The cable car journey up takes just ten minutes on the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn. Down in the valley, in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena region, there is also plenty to do for families with children. During the summer months the mini rollercoaster, monster roller and mountain cart track in Biberwier are a popular highlight, while those in search of a little more rest and relaxation should take a boat trip around the beautiful Heiterwanger See lake. After exploring one of the many adventure trails in the region such as the Moosle Adventure Path, don't forget to stop off at the water-themed adventure play area in Bichlbach to cool off. This large outoor park offers not only a natural swimming pool with a slide and diving boards but also a children's rafting area, a playground and a minigolf course. During the week there are organised activities with childcare, giving parents the chance to take a little time off safe in the knowledge that their kids are in good hands.
Highlights of the free weekly activity programme
From early July to early September, children can enjoy a wide range of activities from Monday to Friday as part of the free weekly activity programme offered in the region
