Tux-Finkenberg is home to the only ski resort in Austria open 365 days a year as well as one of Tirol's most popular ski areas around the village of Mayrhofen.
Nestling between mighty 3,000m mountains like the Olperer and the Gefrorene Wand, the Hintertux Glacier is the only place in Austria where skiers and snowboarders can hit the slopes 365 days a year. The landscape of eternal snow and ice is a highlight in its own right, with pistes on the glacier catering for all abilities. As the name suggests, the Harakiri Piste in nearby Mayrhofen is for experts only. It is officially the steepest ski piste in Austria. Cruisers and families will find plenty of blue and red runs, while freestylers can dial in their tricks in the funpark on the Penken mountain.
