The Nauders - Tirol Oberland - Kaunertal region is located the west of Tirol, where Austria, Switzerland and Italy converge. Wild rivers, calm lakes and tall peaks characterise the landscape. Highlights include a twisting mountain road and a journey back in time to the Middle Ages.
With 29 switchback corners the Kaunertal Glacier Road winds its way 1,500 metres up through forests and meadows into the high mountains, topping out at 2,750 metres above sea level. As you can imagine the views en route are absolutely breathtaking. Another top spot for admiring the landscape, including numerous peaks over 3,000 metres, is the viewing platform high above the village of Feichten. It can be accessed on foot via a trail which is also suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Visitors in search of a little more adventure should head to the high-rope climbing park in Pfunds, which includes a zipwire over the Inn river. The Radurschlklamm gorge is a popular destination for families thanks to its many walkways and bridges above the thundering river which for many millions of years carved its way through the rock. Last but certainly not least, on hot summer days there are plenty of lakes in the region to cool off in.
