The Karwendel Silver Region is perfect for beginners and those getting back into the sport after a while away. There are five small ski resorts to choose from in Schwaz, Weerberg and Kolsassberg.
Visitors staying in or around Schwaz can ski in the Kellerjoch resort above Pill or the Burglift in Stans. The Kellerjoch has four lifts and a small number of ski slopes up to 1,890 metres above sea level, most of which are suitable for families with children. There are also a number of challenging pistes for advanced and expert skiers. At the Burglift in Stans there are two lifts as well as a freestyle park. The resort in Weerberg is similarly compact, with one easy piste at Hüttegglift and a beginners' area at Schwannerliften. Last but not least, there is also a small resort in Kolsassberg.
