"Escape everyday life and head out into nature!" That is the motto of the Karwendel Silver Region when it comes to family holidays. The region makes it easy to turn these bold words into reality thanks to its huge range of outdoor adventures and activities just waiting to be discovered.
A family hike to the Karwendel Nature Park is an absolute muss for all families who spend their holiday in the Karwendel Silver Region. Highlights include the Großer Ahornboden with its centuries-old sycamore trees and the Eng-Alm mountain hut with its play area, tractor race track and mini farmyard. The many activities as part of the weekly programme, most of which are available free of charge, also give visitors the chance to explore the local flora and fauna. Those in search of a little local history can visit Freundsberg Castle and Tratzberg Castle, both of which date back many centuries. And, last but not least, don't forget to visit the silver mine in Schwaz, which was once the largest mine of its kind in Europe and today gives the Karwendel Silver Region its name.
Highlights of the Free Weekly Activity Programme
From early July until early September, children aged 4 to 12 years can take part in the free activity programme from Monday to Friday.
