The Pillersee Valley takes its name from the family-friendly Pillersee lake, a popular destination in summer. Further highlights in the region include a rollercoaster, an ancient coral reef, dinosaurs and a huge mountain-top cross.
Water, water everywhere! Visitors of all ages should definitely bring their swimming gear if they are coming to the Pillersee Valley. The main lake is the Pillersee itself, a great place to cool off on a hot day. High up in the mountains, at the Steinplatte, you will find a coral reef which used to be covered an ancient ocean many millions of years ago. After admiring the landscape from the large viewing platform, kids will love the Dinosaur Trail with its lifesize and miniature models. The Wildseeloder mountain near Fieberbrunn has a single-seater rollercoaster suitable for adults and older children as well as a cable car up to the top of the mountain. Last but certainly not least, the Buchensteinwand is crowned by a huge cross 30 metres high and hollow inside, allowing visitors to climb up inside and enjoy the view from the top.
