The Paznaun Valley is the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts. It has four ski resorts, one of which extends over the border into Switzerland. Kids, snowboarders, cruisers, freestylers and racers – there is something for everyone!
The Silvretta Arena above Ischgl is the largest ski resort in the region with slopes up to 2,872 metres above sea level, including a number which cross over into neighbouring Switzerland. The resort's 45 lifts and cable cars give quick and easy access to 239km of blue (easy), red (intermediate) and black (difficult) ski runs in the Silvretta and Samnaun Mountains. Right at the end of the Paznaun Valley you will find the Silvapark Galtür, another resort with a wide range of pistes. This ski area is divided up into six zones: two areas for children, a freestyle park, an area for advanced and expert skiers, a cruising area and a quiet zone for cross-country skiing, off-piste ski touring and snowshoeing. Families will enjoy the smaller resorts of See im Paznaun and Kappl with 40km of pistes. Kappl is also known for its powder slopes, which host the Open Faces Freeride Contest each year.
