From the Widiversum adventure park Hochoetz to Tirol's highest waterfall, the family-friendly Ötztal region offers a staggering variety of activities for visitors of all ages.
Measuring 65 kilometres in length and famed for its countless mountains over 3,000 metres in height, the Ötztal Valley is a huge playground for families who enjoy spending time outdoors. The first section of the valley around the village of Oetz is particularly suitable for families, reflected in its numerous child-friendly walking trails as well as its many adventure play areas. The local mascot is "Widi", a friendly sheep with big eyes and a big smile, who will help children and their families discover some of the most beautiful sights in the area, including the Piburger See lake, the Widiversum adventure park Hochoetz, the Ötzi Village with the Birds of Prey Park, and the Stuibenfall, Tirol's highest waterfall. During the summer months Widi hosts his own weekly activity programme for children and teenagers. Guests staying in the valley receive a free Ötztal Summer Card giving them access to many great deals and discounts, including one free cable car ride per day.
Highlights of the weekly activity programme
From June until the middle of October, children can enjoy a wide range of activities from Monday to Friday as part of the weekly activity programme.
