Penken and Ahorn – those are the two main mountains above Mayrhofen. Skiers and snowborders will find plenty to keep them busy here in the beautiful Zillertal Valley.
Mayrhofen is the perfect base for skiers and snowboarders keen to explore the Penken and Ahorn mountains. One lift heads south to the Ahorn with its wide open slopes perfect for carving, a long run back down into the valley and the White Lounge bar. The other lift is onto the Penken, where more challenging skiing awaits, including the infamous Harakiri piste with gradients of up to 78%, one of the steepest ski runs in Austria. The mountain is also known for the Penken Park, a huge snowpark with several areas offering kickers and lifts.
