No lift queues and no loud après-ski but instead plenty of space and untouched nature characterise the Lechtal Valley, where visitors can ski in the heart of a protected nature park.
The Jöchlspitze ski resort in Bach has slopes up to 1,800 metres above sea level. As with most resorts in the Lechtal Valley, it is on the small side but has excellent snow cover throughout the season and offers great views of the Lechtal Alps. Its two pistes (blue and red) are serviced by an eight-person cable car and excellent for families with children. The Knittel resort in nearby Elbigenalp is also excellent for families and even has a black piste used for training and racing. The Gföllberg draglift in Holzgau and the family-friendly lifts in Stanzach round off the quartet of small but perfectly formed resorts in this region. Each has its own ski school.
