The Kufstein region has two small ski resorts where families will find plenty of space for those tentative first turns as well as peace and quiet in the heart of a stunning landscape.
The resort in Hinterthiersee has just one lift but a surprisingly large range of pistes. Beginners and families will enjoy the easy blue slopes, while advanced and expert skiers can test themselves on the one red and one black piste in the resort. The black piste is an FIS race slope which is often used for training. At 900 metres above sea level, this resort on the northern slopes of the Alps enjoys good snow conditions throughout the season. Right next door is the resort of Thiersee with one blue and one red piste. Both resorts have their own ski school and accept the Snow Card Tirol, a multi-resort pass giving access to many of the region's best wintersport resorts.
