Parents with young children learning to ski for the first time can choose between four different snowsport schools with friendly and experienced instructors. Younger children and kids who just want to sit things out for a day or two can be looked after by experienced childcare experts. The resort even has its own “baby hotel”. Older children and teenagers will find plenty to keep them busy on the slopes, including a funpark with jumps and obstacles. Who knows, maybe Mum and Dad want to test their skills and nerve too?

At the end of a long day, there is no better place to relax than the Wellnesscenter Kaiserquell in Kirchdorf or the Panorama Badewelt in St. Johann with its giant water slide. Kids and adults with a head for heights can take on the zipwire at the Hornpark adventure centre, which has a special obstacle course during the winter months, or can have a go at biathlon – a popular winter sport combining shooting and cross-country skiing. Local guides also offer skidoor adventures off the beaten track. Soft play is the name of the game at Murmis's Kinderland, a 1,200-square-metre indoor centre opened in 2018 and perfect for days when the weather is bad.

Children’s ski schools. Parents and children will be spoilt for choice in St. Johann in Tirol. There are three ski schools in the resort offering lessons for children as young as three years. Kids new to skiing should try the Skischule Wilder Kaiser in St. Johann in Tirol with its trained instructors and entertainment team. The Schneesportschule Eichenhof in St. Johann has its own mascot, Valle the Snowman, who will be on hand to help youngsters taking their first tentative turns on snow. Last but certainly not least, the red-suited instructors from the Skischule St. Johann can be found on the main square in the centre of the resort, next to the cable cars.
