Sections of the cross-country trails in Waidring and in Hochfilzen are floodlit in the evenings.
You’ve never cross country skied before? The Angerberg Nordic Center has got a lesson for you. Introductory clinics are held each Thursday at 18:30 (bookings essential – please contact the Angerberg/Mariastein Tourist Information Office at angerberg@hohe-salve.com or call +43. 57507.7000). SINUS sport adventures in St. Ulrich am Pillersee provides tuition for first-timers on skinny skis once a week as well.
There are also lots of great events going on in the Kitzbühel Alps throughout the season. St. Johann in Tirol hosts one of the largest mass-participation races in Europe: the International Tirolean Koasa Race. The Biathlon mecca of Hochfilzen in the Pillerseetal Valley also welcomes the world's best biathletes each year for the IBU Biathlon World Cup.
