Fabulous views, lush meadows and craggy mountains – the Alpbachtal-region, which includes sections of the Rofan Mountains, is a haven for mountain bikers of all ages and abilities.
The craggy Rofan Mountains to the north and the rolling meadows of the Alpbachtal Valley to the south make this region one full of contrasts. It is home to three challenging stages of the Bike Trail Tirol, including one through the Kaiserklamm gorge in the Brandenberg Valley. Another long, challenging ride in the region leads around the Guffertspitze mountain to the east of Achenkirch. In the south of the region there is some excellent riding around Inneralpbach. Popular rides lead up to the Steinbergalm and Farmkehralm huts, both of which offer fine views of the western Kitzbühel Alps. Shorter but no less challenging is the ride to another hut, the Dauerstoa-Alm, serving hearty food and drink. There is the option of taking the Wiedersbergerhornbahn cable car back down into the valley.
Important! Guests staying in the region receive the Alpbachtal Card free of charge, including use of the cable cars in the Alpbachtal Valley. Those who wish to transport their bike on the cable car must buy an extra ticket for a small fee.
