Volders is a village of 4,500 inhabitants in the Inntal Valley. Guests and locals alike appreciate its pretty landscape, ancient customs and sights of historical interest.
Close to the motorway exit leading to Volders stands a Servite monastery with its impressive Karlskirche church, considered one of the most beautiful rococo buildings in Tirol. The Friedberg and Aschach castles are further evidence of the village's long history. A 10km trail takes visitors past all these attractions as well as the excavations at the "Himmelreich" settlement, where it is believed that eight buildings stood in pre-Christian times.
Thanks to its central position in the Inn Valley, surrounded on all sides by beautiful nature yet only 15 kilometres from the regional capital Innsbruck, Volders is the ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts. Summer activities include mountaineering and mountain biking, while in winter there is a toboggan run in Volderberg popular with both adults and children alike.
