Völs is one of Innsbruck's Holiday Villages and lies just 5km to the west of the regional capital. Despite its proximity to Innsbruck, Völs is a municipality with market status in its own right and offers visitors much to see and do.
In summer it is the "Völser Badl" open-air swimming pool on the sunny south-facing slopes of the Blasiusberg mountain which serves as a popular meeting place for young and old. Cyclists can explore the Inn Cycle Path, which runs all the way along the Inn river and passes through towns such as Telfs, Innsbruck and Hall. And on those rare days when the sun is not shining there is always the Cyta retail centre with more than 100 shops to choose from.
In winter the family-friendly ski resort of Rangger Köpfl with its sunny pistes is just a short drive from Völs. There is even a free ski bus running between Völs and the bottom of the cable car at Rangger Köpfl. Children can take their first steps on snow in the Kids Park, while freestylers will enjoy the snowpark. There is also a high-altitude hiking trail leading to a cosy traditional hut near the peak.
