Perched on a narrow plateau near the town of Landeck in the Tiroler Oberland, Tobadill is a typical mountain village with a population of 500 residents.
Tobadill is dominated by traditional farmhouses and farmsteads dotted across the mountainside in between small chapels. There are two main highlights popular with the many visitors who come to Tobadill in both summer and winter: the 86m Trisannabrücke bridge and the 13th century Schloss Wiesberg castle. Both are popular photo motifs. Hikers and mountainbikers can use the large network of signposted trails to explore the surrounding mountains. The local tourism board also offers gudied hikes every day. In summer there are a number of family-friendly swimming lakes in the neighbouring municipalities of Landeck, Fliess and Grins.
One of the most popular winter activities is an evening hike to the Zammer Lochputz. This gorge with its high walls and rushing river is an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. Foodies should visit the GenussWerkstatt TirolWest, which was founded in 2013 to promote local produce and support local farmers.
