Reith bei Kitzbühel is located in beautiful natural surroundings – to the north the peaks of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains, to the south a landscape of rolling hills, and to the east the Bichlach hiking area.
This municipality with a population of 1,680 is the quieter alternative to the vibrant resort of Kitzbühel, just five kilometres away, and has managed to maintain much of its traditional charm. In winter, outdoor enthusiasts are spoilt for choice: both Kitzbühel and the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental offer a huge selection of pistes and great restaurants. In Reith itself there is also an award-winning ski school and a small beginners’ lift which can be used free of charge. During the summer months, many visitors are drawn to the Gieringer Weiher and Lake Schwarzsee, which reaches temperatures of 25°C and is considered the warmest moorland lake in Tirol. Indeed, the moorland vegetation is said to give the lake’s water healing properties. Next to the lake there is the 18-hole Schwarzsee-Reith golf course.
