Surrounded by the Tuxer, Kitzbühel and Zillertal Alps, Ramsau is a small municipality in the heart of the Zillertal Valley and is home to 1,600 inhabitants.
Its position on the wide valley floor makes it an excellent starting point for many different activities, including hiking and mountain biking. Those in search of more action on the slopes can travel to the nearby Zillertal Arena or the resort of Mayrhofen with its famous Vans Penken Park and “White Lounge” igloo village. Other popular excursions include a nostalgic railway ride on the Zillertalbahn, which sometimes still operates steam-driven locomotives and stops twice in Ramsau.
