The small municipality of Pill can be found near the town of Schwaz. It extends from the valley floor at 552m right up into the high mountain pastures at 2,200m.
Pill is made up of the settlements Pill, Niederberg, Pillberg and the sunny Hochpillberg. Each is an excellent starting point for hikes in summer and ski tours in winter into the surrounding mountains. One of the most popular destination is the Kellerjoch mountain with its high-altitude restaurant and Kreuzjochkapelle chapel. The 500-year-old Gewölbekeller has a selection of fine wines, while the Tiroler Schnapsmuseum Plankenhof introduces visitors to the history of this traditional but potent spirit! Fabulous views can be enjoyed from the terrace of the Bio-Hotel Grafenast, which also hosts regular exhibitions presenting work by international artists. The hotel also has a small exhibition on the history of skiing.
