The municipality of Langkampfen is dominated by the tree-covered foothills of the Pendling mountain and the wide, lush expanses of the rich and fertile meadows next to the Inn river.
Langkampfen lies on the northern banks of the Inn river, between Kirchbichl and Kufstein, at 504 metres above sea level. It is home to around 4,000 inhabitants and has retained its traditional charm combined with a number of shops and boutiques. The village is an excellent starting point for cultural and sporting adventures, while those with a strong stomach and a head for heights can book a flight at the nearby gliding school. The town of Kufstein with its famous fortress perched on a rock high above is just 7 kilometres from Langkampfen. In summer the region has a number of swimming lakes such as the idyllic Stimmersee, which is surrounded by thick forests with that can be explored using a network of walking trails.
