Karres is a small, quiet municipality in a sunny location in the Upper Inntal Valley. It is home to 600 residents.
The mighty 2,370m Tschirgant mountain gives the village of Karres its alpine character and is a popular outdoor playground in summer for hikers and mountain bikers. One of the best places to visit, be it by bike or on foot, is the Karrer Alm hut serving a selection of delicious local food. Rock climbers will also find plenty to keep them busy. The Klettergarten climbing area is home to 80 mostly easy climbs. From Karres it is just a short drive to the town of Imst, which plays host to a wide range of events throughout the year – from centuries-old customs and traditions to modern concerts and exhibitions. Last but certainly not least, adrenaline junkies can test their nerve at Area47, the world's biggest outdoor adventure park.
