Located on the southern banks of the Inn, Inzing is home to 3,700 inhabitants and is an ideal destination for outdoor and nature enthusiasts.
One of the most popular destinations around Inzing is the Inzinger Alm hut, which serves a selection of delicious homemade food. The walk from Inzing to the hut takes around 3 hours. There are also plenty of other hiking trails to explore in summer such as the themed "Inzinger Themenweg" with a series of information boards telling walkers about the geology and history of this region. Also well worth a visit is the Gaisau bird protection area. Those interested in culture should pay a visit to the nearby town of Telfs or the regional capital Innsbruck with its many events going on throughout the year. In the run-up to Christmas there is an exhibition of hand-carved nativity scenes in Inzing. This tradition dates all the way back to the 17th century and has been passed down through the generations.
Tip! Inzing is home to a schnapps distillery featuring on the Tirol Schnapps Distillery Route. Owner Lambert Draxl is happy to show visitors around and tell them about the complex process behind producing a fine schnapps. The visit ends with a chance to sample some of the local produce.
