The small village of Hochfügen is located at the end of a 14 km mountain road winding its way through the Finsingtal Valley. It is home to several hotels and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
The narrow mountain road through the Finsingtal Valley begins near the entrance to the Zillertal Valley at around 600 m altitude and ends in Hochfügen at 1,474 m, surrounded by cable cars and ski lifts. This small village belongs to the municipality of Fügenberg im Zillertal and was established in the early 1960s together with the ski resort of the same name. Today it attracts skiers and snowboarders in winter as well as hikers and mountain bikers in summer. The ski area is connected to the neighbouring resort of Hochzillertal and offers a wide range of pistes catering for all abilities. The village itself has several four-star hotels and even an award-winning restaurant: the Alexander. The Finsingtal Valley and its high mountain peaks are excellent for hiking, mountain biking and snowshoe hikes. Alternatively, why not take a day trip to one of the many other attractions in the Zillertal Valley such as the spa and leisure centre in Fügen, the high rope adventure park in Kaltenbach or the mighty Schleierwasserfall waterfall in Hart?
