This village in the eastern part of the Kitzbühel Alps offers direct access to one of Austria's largest piste networks: the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. Beginners and families will also enjoy the small local resort on the Buchensteinwand mountain.
Wintersports enthusiasts are truly spoilt for choice in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, one of Austria's biggest ski resorts linking four separate villages along the valley. Indeed, the resort on the Lärchfilzkogel above Fieberbrunn is already in its own right a decent-sized ski area with pistes for all abilities. Over the border in the neighbouring province of Salzburg you will find lots more slopes, lifts, funparks and huts. The two sections of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, one in Tirol and one in Salzburg, are connected by the state-of-the-art TirolS cable car. Freeriders will find plenty of off-piste adventures on the Wildseeloder mountain in Tirol. For families in search of something a little smaller and quieter there is the Pillersee-Buchensteinwand resort on the other side of the valley. Up at the top of this resort, which is mainly aimed at families and beginners, you will find a huge crucifix which you can even walk inside and climb up to enjoy the fabulous views from the top.
