The village of Brandenberg is perched on a sunny plateau overlooking the eastern section of the Lower Inntal Valley. It is home to around 1,500 inhabitants and surrounded by an unspoilt landscape well worth exploring.
Highlights in the surrounding region include the Tiefenbachklamm and Kaiserklamm gorges, as well as the towering mountains offering spectacular views to those willing to scale them. Mountain bikers will enjoy the Bike Trail Tirol, while watersports are popular in summer. In the winter months the village is home to a network of cross-country skiing trails as well as a number of floodlit toboggan runs.
Foodies should definitley try the delicious "Tiroler Prügeltorte", which originally comes from Brandenberg and is traditionally eaten at celebrations such as christenings and weddings. In summer there is a cooking workshop held once a week to show visitors how to make this sweet treat.
