Far from the hustle and bustle of nearby towns, Angerberg in the Kitzbühel Alps is a haven of peace and quiet. This village at 650m altitude takes its name from the mountain which overlooks it.
The majority of the 1,800 inhabitants of Angerberg live in traditional farmhouses in the shadow of thick forests and lush meadows. This idyllic setting makes Angerberg a popular destination for hikes and bike rides in the Kitzbühel Alps. From the top of the nearby Buchacker mountain there are spectacular views of the surrounding region. The Buchacker Eishöhle ice cave, which takes around 2.5 hours to walk to, is a natural jewel with many stalagmites and stalactites. It has been a protected place of natural beauty since 1956.
