In the mountains above Achenkirch lie the "Hochalmlifte Christlum", a small but perfectly formed ski resort offering something for everyone. There are also several more ski areas in the region.
The sunny slopes of the Karwendel Mountains present a fine backdrop for skiers and snowboarders keen to explore the slopes of the Hochalmlift Christlum, a small ski resort above Achenkirch on the northern side of Lake Achensee. The resort offers pistes for all skiing abilities, a funpark for snowboarders, kickers for freestylers, a large practice area for children and several huts serving food and drink. Proof, if any were needed, that good things come in small packages! There are also a number of other ski resorts in the region such as the family-friendly Karwendel-Bergbahn in Pertisau, the Planberglifte and Wiesenlifte in Pertisau, and the Rofanlifte in Steinberg. The Rofanseilbahn ski resort in Maurach has a particularly long descent from the top of the resort all the way down to the bottom.
