This stage shows why the Lech is getting wider and wider - you pass three waterfalls at once. And one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in the world.
Easy to moderately difficult stage, which is initially flat until Holzgau and mostly runs along the banks of the river. Shortly before Holzgau, a waterfall with Kneipp facilities invites you to linger. From the village center with its late baroque Lüftlmalereien on the facades follows a detour through the Höhenbach gorge up to the Simms waterfall. Alternative route via the 200.5 meter long and 110 meter high Holzgau suspension bridge. Downhill through mountain forest with short ascents to Stockach. Uphill to Benglerwald and the lake swamp, with a possible detour to the Modertal waterfall on the way.
From the starting point, follow a field path in the direction of Hägerau. The Lechweg trail then leads you further along the Jochweg trail to Holzgau. If you are not afraid of heights, you can cross the spectacular pedestrian suspension bridge. Alternatively, the original route takes you through the Höhenbach valley and past the Simms waterfall. The route continues over wooden footbridges through the impressive Schigge landscape towards Stockach. From there, you walk steadily uphill to the valley station of the Jöchelspitzbahn cable car in the Benglerwald forest. Your hiking trail then leads through the Modertal gorge to Seesumpf and on down to Bach.
