Karwendelrunde - Etappe 2
****
Gramai Alm - Bärenlahnersattel - Sonnjoch - Gramaisattel - Gramaijoch - Hahnkampl - Lamsenjochhütte
Stage 2 of the Karwendel tour offers two alternative routes, both take hikers up to the magnificent Sonnjoch - at 2,457 metres the highest peak in the Achensee region. From here, hikers can either follow the path to the Lamsenjochhütte at an elevation of 1,953 metres or shorten the route and return to the Karwendel cable car in Pertisau.
From the Gramai Alm, follow the hiking trail no. 201, which is relatively flat in the direction of Pertisau. After ca. 800 metres, you arrive at a junction. Keep left and follow the trail to the Bärenlahnersattel as it heads uphill, getting increasingly steeper. From here, turn west where the trail runs to the right of the ridge towards the Sonnjoch. From the summit ridge of the Sonnjoch, descend along the ridge through mountain pines and alpine pastures. The trail leads over the Gramaisattel to the Gramaijoch. From here, continue over the Hahnkampl and the western and eastern Lamsenjoch to the Lamsenjochhütte (overnight stay).
