Family-friendly tour from Stans to Jenbach

Description

This route is a very easy excursion to Jenbach, past a Renaissance jewel of Tyrol: Tratzberg Castle. You can stop off at the Schlossiwirt and refresh yourself with a hearty snack and Tyrolean home cooking as well as experience a guided tour (March to November) through the castle. Tratzberg lies about halfway, from there the way continues along the picturesque Tratzberg road to Jenbach, where you can visit a museum on mining, metallurgy and railways (approx. 5 minutes from the destination point).

Another highlight in Jenbach are the railway stations. You read that correctly: The 7,000-person market town actually has three railway stations: the regular ÖBB railway station and the two narrow-gauge railways, the Achenseebahn and Zillertalbahn. From there you can make an excursion to the Achensee or to the Zillertal (bicycle transport in the Zillertalbahn is possible).
