Description

A great ride for hot summer days: this route follows the cool Sendersbach stream along the Senders Valley and up to the Kemater Alm mountain hut. The hut is situated below the impressive Kalkkögel mountain range, which is often referred to as the "Dolomites of North Tyrol". The tour starts in Grinzens. Follow the road, which is quite steep in parts, through the Senders Valley and along the stream. Just before you reach the hut, the valley opens up and rewards you with stunning views of the Kalkkögel mountains.

Our bike & hike tip: from the Kemater Alm, there are plenty of opportunities for walking and climbing around the Kalkkögel mountains and towards Salfeins and the Salfeinsee lake.

Highlights:
The Kemater Alm is a popular mountain restaurant located at an altitude of 1,660 metres above sea level. Wonderful views of the Kalkkögel mountains, which are known as the "Dolomites of the North". Typical Tyrolean alpine delicacies.
