A warm welcome to the Altenrast alpine hut!

Escape everyday stress at 1,800m.

In the midst of blossoming alpine pastures. Deliciously fragrant forests. This view onto the Karnischer Hauptkamm (Carnic Alps Main Crest)! Warm evenings by the campfire.

Walk across alpine pastures. The fragrance of the herbs! Roam through larch forests. Whoops! - tripped over a mushroom! Look here - cows grazing the alpine pasture. They're enjoying their holidays, too. The lake is glittering in the sun. Nature is showing herself in all her variety and beauty.

Children, especially, will feel very much at home here with us. There are all sorts of play opportunities on offer. Deer, hares, and foxes come right up to the hut. Relaxation in idyllic mountain landscape - pure nature!

With 60m2  of living space our guests don't have to give up comfort entirely!

You can drive by car right up to the hut. A 12-volt generator takes care of electric lighting, and a solar power plant heats the water (50-litre boiler). We've deliberately avoided plug sockets.

Heating is by means of wood - this guarantees a pleasant heat.

The WC is separate. Anyone who wants to be rustic can also try out  the "privy" outside the hut.
