The Lippnerhütte ist situated on 1.500 m altitude on a hillside location, above Vorderlanersbach with glorious views of the surrounded mountains and the glacier. Restaurants and shopping facilities can be found in Vorderlanersbach - approx. 1,5 km away. The access to the hut leads over a mountain road (in winter snow chains necessary).
In winter the ski run to the bottom station of the Eggalm lifts and the Rastkogel lifts runs approx. 50 m along the hut.
In summer many hiking trails and mountain bike trails start directly at the hut.
The original approx. 300 year old hut is completely built of wood and furnished in simple, rustic style. The house is heated by a wood stove in the kitchen; the rest of the house with an electric heating.
