Thanks to the wealth of summer and winter activities on offer in the region, our relaxed, family-run bed and breakfast is the ideal ‘base camp’ for nature lovers and sports enthusiasts. And for those who enjoy day trips and sight-seeing, we’re just a 5-minute walk from the railway station. After an eventful day in the great outdoors you can unwind in our Tyrolean-style sauna area with a traditional wooden sauna and an infrared cabin. Complete with a warm, quiet resting room and a small outdoor area for cooling down, our sauna area is perfect for relaxing and boosting your well-being.

Our 12 double rooms are light, welcoming and comfortably appointed and all have a balcony boasting breathtaking views of the Karwendel mountains. To ensure the perfect start to the day we offer a sumptuous buffet breakfast. Our 5 spacious apartments offer ideal accommodation for the whole family. On request we can bring you rolls each morning freshly made in our local bakery.

During the summer months Scharnitz - the gateway to the Karwendel mountains - offers everything that hiking and biking enthusiasts could ever wish for - family walks, challenging multi-day treks and mountain bike tours to lush pastures and rustic Alpine huts. Guests who bring their own bikes can make use of the Frankenhof’s bike storage room. Children staying in Scharnitz have great fun making stone towers along the shore of the river Isar.

Enjoy a memorable winter holiday in the Region Seefeld-Tirols Hochplateau. 271 kilometres of immaculately groomed cross-country ski tracks, powder-snow pistes for Alpine skiers and idyllic winter walking trails await you! Lovers of the sport of cross-country skiing can access the A12 track groomed for skating and classic-style skiing right behind the Frankenhof bed and breakfast. And Alpine skiing enthusiasts can catch the free ski bus that takes you in just 10 minutes to the pistes of the Rosshütte and Gschwandtkopf ski areas. But that’s not all! Scharnitz and the Karwendel mountains also offer a paradise for fans of snowshoeing and off-piste ski touring. Our house even has its own ski depot with waxing area to ensure your equipment is in tip-top shape every day, and our boot drier guarantees warm feet on cold winter mornings.
