This stunning, 19th century farmhouse is located in the picturesque village of Ramsau in the Zillertal Valley. Old planks from the barn were re-used as wall cladding and as sliding shutters. As they slide open like barn doors, the building resembles the old wooden barn when the shutters are closed. In order not to change the outline, recessed loggias were built instead of balconies. Also inside old meets new and thus Zillertal farmhouse rooms and traditional stoves are successfully combined with simple furnishings, as well as modern kitchens and bathrooms.

Villgratental Valley in Osttirol is home to the Giatla-Haus, with four apartments that can accommodate two to four persons each. The original character of the over 300 year-old farmhouse was carefully preserved during renovation works. The interior features furniture and textiles in linear style and pure colours, creating a modern ambience. Natural materials create a special charm: for example, sheep’s wool for insulation purposes and solid wood furniture made from spruce and pine.
