Five concert experiences in the mountains
Tirol’s mountains are not only fantastic for skiing and climbing – they also provide a spectacular backdrop for music events. In summer 2024 the region will play host to a range of musical highlights spanning everything from picnics with pop songs to brass bands in breathtaking surroundings.
1) Musical summe in the Lech Valley
Folk music, traditional schlager and pop music are the three main pillars of this outdoor event taking place between June and September. Held every year, it is a great place to enjoy different kinds of music on several stages out in the fresh alpine air.
2) Summer concerts in Seefeld
No money for expensive tickets? No problem! Every summer, between May and September, local brass bands perform brass music and marching music concerts completely free of charge in a range of locations in Seefeld such as churches, village squares, indoor halls and chapels.
3) Classical music in the mountains in Mutters
In September, the Mutterer Alm hut in the mountains above Innsbruck will be hosting a concert by the InnStrumenti chamber orchestra. Here, up at 1,620 metres above sea level, the dress code is informal and the atmosphere is relaxed – simply pick a spot on the mountain and settle down to enjoy a mix of classical music and tango.
4) Long friday Fieberbrunn
Long Friday doesn’t refer to the day of the week but instead is the name of a music event taking place on ten Fridays throughout the summer in the mountains above Fieberbrunn. You can bring your own picnic or buy one of the pre-packed ones and settle down on a blanket for a feast of food and music. The musical programme ranges from classic Austrian pop to rock and even jazz.

5) Summer concerts on Patscherkofel mountain
Ever heard of a classical music concert at 1,965 metres above sea level? That is exactly what visitors can look forward to during the summer concerts on the Patscherkofel mountain above Innsbruck. Instead of hiking up, this spectacular venue can be accessed quickly and easily via cable car. The views down to Innsbruck are spectacular.
