Tour character

Sunny winter hike from the Markbachjochbahn mountain station down into the valley. On the south side of the Markbachjoch, the trail descends in long curves. The view of the Brixental Valley is particularly enjoyable here. The trail leads past picturesque farms through the forest to the rustic Penningdörfl, where the chapel of St. Cross is located. Take a detour to the Leamwirt for refreshments. You pass some pretty farms and cross snow-covered meadows on the way back to Niederau.
