Description

Leaving Westendorf’s village centre we head off towards the Alpenrosenbahn (gondola station). We pass by this station, where we can also purchase our lift cards, and walk straight ahead along the Oberwindaustraße. After a short uphill stretch, we arrive soon after at the valley station of the Choralmbahn (gondola station). Taking the easy way up, we travel with this gondola to the top station of the Choralpe, where a magnificent mountain panorama awaits us, with of course a mountain restaurant. We walk along the ski route to “Talkaser”, the mountain-top station of the Alpenrosenbahn. Here, also, is a beautifully situated restaurant. After a snack we travel with the Alpenrosenbahn down to the middle station where we then walk along the ski route (No. 110a) to the Maierhof Inn. Please keep to the side of the slope and take care of the passing skiers – this short part of our route is not an official hiking trail!!!! From the Maierhof Inn we continue our walk on the road, downhill, while passing several mountain restaurants and inns – Stimmlach, Alte Mittel, Sportalm, Zieplhof and Café Bruchstall.
