Vils /
Difficulty ratings: medium
Route length: 6.6 km
Duration: 2:30 h

We're not talking about princes or unicorns, but about a hike through a winter wonderland, just so strenuous that the children like to go to bed at night, without Wi-Fi on the mountain pasture, but with fairytale cuisine. Does it sound to you like the fairy godmother has granted three wishes? Then let's go ...

Tour character

Directly from the parking lot, you hike along the well-prepared forest path along the rushing Kühbach stream in loops through the magical winter forest. With a moderate gradient, the trail is also easy for children to master. Past the Alpstrudelfall, a winter wonderland opens up further up. Tyrolean delicacies are served in the Vilser Alm mountain inn, which are guaranteed to please the children too. If you want to get back down quickly and have fun, then we definitely recommend taking toboggans with you.

Description

You start your winter hike from the Vilser Alm parking lot through the enchanting, snow-covered landscape of the Alptal valley. On a well-prepared forest path, the trail meanders leisurely through the snow-covered mountain forest along the idyllic Kühbach stream. After around one and a half hours, you will reach the Vilser Alm, situated at 1,226 m above sea level.

Once at the top, a very special winter experience awaits you: the Vilser Alm welcomes you with warm, regional delicacies, which you can enjoy in the cozy restaurant with its tiled stove - perfect for warming up after a winter hike. When the weather is nice, the sun terrace also beckons, offering you a wonderful view of the snow-covered mountains and inviting you to linger.

The descent is along the same route back down to the valley, where you can enjoy the tranquil winter landscape to the full once again.
