Winter hike Winter walk Schönanger

Wildschönau /
Difficulty ratings: easy
Route length: 3.6 km
Duration: 1:00 h

Silence ... nothing else? No! That's not enough for us. But how about winter peace and enjoyment? Do you like it too? Then you should definitely go on this hike.

Tour character

The parking lot of the Schönanger Alm inn is located behind Auffach. This is where the winter hike begins - with snowshoes if you prefer - which leads to the end of the Wildschönau high valley. It is worth making a detour to the pretty Swiss stone pine chapel before continuing along the Ache river into the valley. The trail leads past abandoned mountain pastures and across snow-covered meadows to a bridge. Perfect for enjoying the tranquillity of the mountains, the sound of the stream and the clear snowy air. After returning along the same route, the Schönanger Alm invites you to enjoy (according to Gault Millau) solid alpine fare of outstanding quality.

Description

One of the most beautiful spots of the Wildschönau is the Schönangeralm. It lies far behind the village of Auffach, lonely and quiet at the end of the valley. The hike starts at the Schönangeralm inn. From here, the cleared path leads past the small pine chapel to a group of abandoned alpine huts. Further on, the path leads right next to the cross-country ski trail. To the left and right, the mountain giants of the Wildschönau tower into the winter sky. On the way back, drop in to the warm and cosy Schönangeralm inn.
