Description

You start this leisurely winter hike at the hiking starting point directly opposite the Ellmau Tourist Info. Head towards the golf course and shortly after the Sonneck restaurant, turn onto the groomed winter hiking trail (parallel to the Kaiserloipe) to Scheffau. Follow this to the district of Wald and enjoy the fantastic view of the Wilder Kaiser. Continue around the Auwald district and then towards Scheffau. A detour to Gasthof Föhrenhof for a refreshment break is always worthwhile. Shortly after the inn, turn back onto the prepared winter hiking trail until you reach the Scheffau district of Trattenbach, passing the craft museum in Niederachen. Walk past the Koasa bakery on the winter hiking trail parallel to the ski slope into the centre of Scheffau. The 4060 bus takes you comfortably back to Ellmau.
Of course you can also start the tour in Scheffau.
