Description

From the village centre of Hochfilzen, walk in the direction of the church. In the pilgrimage church Maria Schnee you will find the baroque year-round nativity scene with various scenes from the life of Jesus Christ. Opposite the church, walk along the winter hiking trail "Herrengasse" towards Warming. To the left and right of the path are the perfectly groomed cross-country trails of the Hochfilzen Nordic centre, providing a first impression of the wonderful cross-country skiing conditions in the region. After the subway, walk left along the pavement until you reach the striking "Hörlbauer" and "Glaagut" farms. Between the two farms, turn left onto Tennweg. Cross the small bridge and keep left. Now walk along the Buchensteinwand circular trail on the sunny side of the valley towards Fieberbrunn. Through untouched winter landscape, past rustic farms, you hike via the districts of Pfaffenschwendt, Buchau, Schönau, Grünbichl and Vornbichl to Rosenegg. From there you can take the free ski bus back to Hochfilzen.
