Description

We travel by car or with the ski bus to the Reisterbrücke (bridge) in the Brixenbach area.  Remaining on the left-hand side, we hike uphill along the Brixenbach river.  This ascent leads us through beautiful snow-covered Alpine pastures and meadows and is lined with several shrines depicting the “Stations of the Cross”.  After a short distance through the forest, we reach the highest point of our hike – a beautifully situated rest area above the Brixenbachalm with magnificent views of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range and of Brixen’s Sonnberg.  We descend to the Brixenbachalm and enjoy a tasty mountain snack before we begin our return journey.  For this we can either choose the more attractive route on a toboggan (which can be hired at the Brixenbachalm for €4) or take the same route back on foot to our original departure point.
