Up to the best box seat: the Wilder Kaiser within reach!
The start of an exciting yet idyllic winter hike can be found at the village quare of Going, which is well-known filming location for the tv series 'Der Bergdoktor'. Enjoy the view of the picturesque Wilder Kaiser with its rugged and striking peaks, which rises up opposite the church.
If you leave the square to the east, you will come directly onto Söllnerweg, which leads into a beaten track ans slowly takes you up the Astberg. Can you see the snow crystals glistening? Can you feel the sun's rays tickling your skin? And do you hear nothing but the crunching of your shoes in the snow and the silence of snow-covered nature?
On the way, you will pass the Gabelhof and other rustic farms before reaching the Hollenauer Kreuz intersection. Continue through the wintry forest with the sun shining through the brances until you reach the road. Pass the small pond 'Plattenteich' and follow the signpost in the direction of Hollenauer Kreuz.
When you reach your destination, at 1030 metres, you will not only find the best natural box set with the Wilder Kaiser within your grasp, but also the delicious, homemade apple strudel at the Hollenauer Kreuz hut, which tastes best in a deckchair, warmed by the sun's rays.
